BUREAU VERITAS CERTIFIED AS A TOP EMPLOYER

Bureau Veritas South Africa Group was recently certified as a Top Employer in South Africa for 2022 by the globally-acclaimed Top Employers Institute.
The Top Employers Institute is a global authority charged with recognising excellence in people practices and striving to accelerate these practices in order to improve the world of work.
Crucially, the performance of organisations participating in the Top Employers Institute Certification Programme are rated against an international standard.
Bureau Veritas is a world leader in laboratory testing, inspection and certification services. Created in 1828, the group has 78000 employees located in more than 1600 offices and laboratories around the globe.
The group operates in a number crucial economic sectors including building and infrastructure, chemicals, agriculture, consumer products and retail, marine, oil and gas and power and utilities. It helps its clients improve their performance by
offering services and innovative solutions in order to ensure that their assets, products, infrastructure and processes meet standards and regulations in terms of quality, health and safety, environmental protection and social responsibility.
The South African arm of the business, which is head-officed in Gauteng, has 218 employees across all of its locations and generates over R427 million in sales annually. There are 1,317 companies within Bureau Veritas Testing and Inspections South Africa.
Commenting on the company’s achievement, Ms Beatrice Scharneck, District Human Resources Manager for Bureau Veritas Southern Africa, said that the company was extremely proud of its achievement.
The certification approval followed a rigorous and independent analysis of the company’s human resources environment. The overall analysis took into account six human resources domains, comprising s 20 topics, including people strategy, the work environment, talent acquisition, learning and well-being as well as diversity and inclusion.
“We take our brand reputation very seriously and having achieved independent and official validation that Bureau Veritas is regarded as a top employer will greatly assist in giving effect to the retention of our existing professional talent and the attraction of seriously high-calibre staff into the future,” she pointed out.
